Viña Santa Rita

Viña Santa Rita was founded in 1880 by don Domingo Fernandez Concha, -prominent businessman and public figure of his time- in Alto Jahuel, the same lands where the main facilities are located today.
The founder introduced fine French vines into the fertile soil of the Rio Maipo Valley, which added to French wine experts specially hired for the task, allowed the production of wines with much more superior techniques and results than the ones traditionally used and obtained in Chile.
Since the end of 19th. Century until middle of 1970's the vineyard developed under the ownership of García Huidobro family, led by don Vicente García Huidobro - don Domingo Fernandez Concha's son in law- who continued the legacy and mission of the founder.
In 1980 the ownership of Viña Santa Rita –consisted of the brands, Alto Jahuel plant and 50 ha. of vineyards adjacent to the plant- was acquired by Claro group and Owens Illinois, the world's leading glass container manufacturer.
In September 1997 Viña Santa Rita expanded abroad for the first time, establishing Viña Doña Paula S.A in Argentina, with the acquisition of lands in Ugarteche and Tupungato, both located in the province of Mendoza.
Always focused on the Premium and Super Fine wines, Santa Rita and its branches currently commercialize their products in more than 75 countries.

Viña Santa Rita implemented Loyal DMS and QMS for the comprehensive management of documents on the Quality Management System.The DMS module is currently in use, and the implementation of QMS module is in progress, for audit planning and non conformity, claims and reports management.

Computerization of the Quality Management System, which has been run to date on Microsoft Office files within the company's network.
